The online web conference serves two purposes for me. First off it is a motivator. Several times throughout this graduate program I have gotten behind in my internship activities. Every time I get on a conference call I get motivated and catch back up. The calls have also given me information I didn’t know about in regard to the internship. This has helped me streamline what I do and how I do it to be more time efficient.
Secondly the conference call gives me security in my assumptions of what is expected of the work I am completing. I will typically read the assignment several times throughout the week. Most of the time I still have questions when I am working on the assignment. If I have listened to the conference call that week, most of those questions are already answered. This week’s assignment was very confusing. By listening to the week one conference call and participating in the week 2 conference call many of my questions where answered. At first I thought I needed to post multiple videos and an audio, but after listening to this weeks call I now have clarity. I am now almost complete with my assignment and have offered advice to several others in my group. That advice was from knowledge gained from this week’s conference call.
